Israel's president Isaac Herzog will announce on Sunday the name of the person charged with forming a government. The move comes after a very tight election and consultations with the different parties this week. Long negotiations began around Herzog to try to avoid deadlock or a return to the polls. The president must now designate who among the candidates will get the mandate to form a government. A majority is said to be emerging around Gadi Eisenkot, with the suspense set to end on 8 November.
